Ekaterina Popova is a journalist with many years of experience in Bulgarian and German print and electronic media. Throughout her professional career, she has specialized in the field of social policy. She was the media advisor to the respective Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Policy and Director of the Press Center of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy in the mandates of the interim governments in Bulgaria in 2013 and 2014. She taught Social Policy and Labor Relations in the Masters Degree Program in Internal Political Journalism at the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
She has worked as an Information and Communication Officer for the Development of a Workforce Competence Assessment System by Sectors and Regions, a project implemented by the Bulgarian Industrial Association and financed by the Human Resource Development Operational Program of the EU, as well as for the Program of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, financed by the Norwegian Government (EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014) and implemented by the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy.
